Personally I skipped the golden age because it was to old and difficult to read but if you want to start in the golden age than i'm not going to stop you.

You can of course also start later. For example you can start in the modern age because its the age were infinity wars and the clone saga were or you can start in the bronze age for the original secret wars, it is totally up to you.
